What happened to collection during Mass ... ?
As of January 1st, 2002 we no longer take a collection during Mass. The Parish Finance Council studied this for several years and our Intentional Discipleship Committee has surveyed other parishes that have eliminated collections from within the Mass. Therefore, we see this as an important change toward making our Mass more reverent and toward helping us to be more intentional and responsible about supporting our parish.

  1. All registered parishioners receive a packet of contribution envelopes once every two months.
  2. We have offertory boxes at the entrances of the church and auditorium as you come to Mass each weekend. You can choose to deposit your support envelopes in these boxes,
  3. OR you can choose instead to mail in your financial support on a monthly, quarterly or yearly basis by using the new self-addressed enveloped that will now be included with your packet.
  4. One thing that you will notice is missing from your packet will be the monthly envelope. Although there will no longer be a separate monthly envelope, we ask that you combine what you gave monthly and weekly to fulfill your promise of financial support to the parish.
  5. Special Collections will continue to have their own envelope and therefore their own offertory box; we ask that you continue to make these donations separately.

We hope that you will find this way of contributing to St. Bridget Parish to be helpful for both your prayer and participation at Mass as well as your commitment and participation in the life and mission of our parish!
