Do you have Questions About Parish Membership?

  • I become a child of God merely by being born - all people are God's children.
  • I become a Catholic by receiving the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation
  • I become a member of St. Bridget Parish by completing a parish census form found at the entrances of the church and auditorium.
  • I become a participating member of St. Bridget Parish by participating in parish worship (weekly Mass, the public prayer of the church), life (parish ministries and activities) and support (financial and personal presence).

Sometimes we forget whether or not we registered at St. Bridget. You can call the parish office from 9 am to 4 pm any weekday to find out for sure. Link to Registration/Census Form.

This official registration is important for several reasons. For example:

  • we only have jurisdiction to baptize children of registered parishioners
  • to marry registered parishioners. (if an adult child moves out of the family home, he/she should fill out a separate parish census form).
  • people often request a sponsorship certificate when they are asked to be a sponsor at a baptism or confirmation in another parish. We can only issue these for registered, practicing parishioners.

More than a piece of paper, Parish membership is:

  • the experience of being a part of this Catholic Community of faith,
  • sharing God's life here especially by means of the weekly Eucharist;
  • helping, supporting and welcoming one another as we each grow in faith;
  • reaching out to show Jesus way of life and love to others.

If you are moving out of the parish we would appreciate notification so we can keep our records up to date.
